In the past couple of seasons the attendance has been down for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, the consensus is that 2006 and 2007 had very poor ticket sales, leaving over twenty thousand seats remaining to be filled one week before the game for 2007, and that a new location needed to be found for the AAC Championships for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. The decision was made that Tampa, Florida would be the host for the 2008 and 2009 season championships, and that for 2010 and 2011, the host would be Charlotte North Carolina.
The 2007 ACC Championship game was the fifteenth match up between Boston College and Virginia Tech, and the second time that they faced each other for the season of 2007. Virginia Tech dominated the Bostonians in the December 1st contest, even though Boston University laid claim to Matt Ryan, the 2007 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and Heisman hopeful. The new stadium hopes to draw more contestants for the Million Dollar Throw this year, so don’t forget to go to vividseats.com to check out the Raymond James Stadium seating chart so that you can bear witness to the next great thing in the ACC Championships in Tampa this year.
