Born in 1924 in Muncie, Indiana, Ball State Cardinals football turns crisp Midwest Saturdays into a community ritual at 22,500-seat Scheumann Stadium.

The Cardinals own six MAC championships (1976, 1978, 1989, 1993, 1996, 2020) and capped 2020 by toppling No. 19 San Jose State for the program's first bowl win in the Arizona Bowl. Trophy games add extra electricity, especially the annual Bronze Stalk showdown with Northern Illinois.

Fans flock to the pregame Cardinal Walk and CharlieTown pep rally, while the Pride of Mid-America Marching Band sets the tone before Dancing Charlie marks midfield. Legends like punter Brad Maynard, a rare MAC MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, shape a proud identity that invites every fan to chirp loud, tailgate early, and make new memories under the lights.
