Chad Smith is the hard-hitting, pocket-first drummer shaping the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ funk-rock sound since the late 1980s. With muscular grooves and elastic feel, he anchors albums like "Blood Sugar Sex Magik," "Californication," and "By the Way," turning rhythms into hooks on songs such as "Give It Away" and "Scar Tissue." Beyond RHCP, Smith flexes his range in Chickenfoot and Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats, and he is a sought-after collaborator across rock, pop, and beyond. Onstage he brings snap, swing, and playful showmanship, the rare drummer who can make a packed arena feel like a sweaty club.
