The Days of ’76 Rodeo is Deadwood, South Dakota’s signature celebration of Western heritage, honoring the 1876 gold rush that put this Black Hills town on the map. Each July, the PRCA-sanctioned event brings elite cowboys and cowgirls together for a week of competition, parades, and community pride in a truly historic setting.

Fans can take in bull riding, saddle bronc and bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and fast barrel racing on meticulously prepared ground. Grandstands fill with a friendly, multigenerational crowd, while historic wagons, Native and frontier pageantry, and the nearby Days of ’76 Museum add rich context. With small-town hospitality and top-tier talent, the Days of ’76 Rodeo delivers an immersive, only-in-Deadwood experience that turns summer nights into unforgettable memories.
