Founded in 1998 in Belton, Texas, the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders quickly rose into a Division III powerhouse. The Cru have piled up American Southwest Conference championships and claimed national titles in 2018 and 2021, adding multiple Stagg Bowl appearances to their résumé. Founding head coach Pete Fredenburg shaped the identity and championship standards that still guide the program.

Game days at on-campus Crusader Stadium feel intimate and electric, with close sightlines, a spirited student section, and tailgating that starts early and runs loud. The annual showdown with Hardin-Simmons often steers the ASC race and brings out a sea of purple and gold. Alumni such as NFL linebacker Jerrell Freeman prove how excellence in Belton travels. Join the crowd and be part of moments you will talk about long after the final whistle.
