Missouri Western Griffons Men's Basketball Tickets
Missouri Western Griffons Men's Basketball Tickets
Born in 1916 in St. Joseph, Missouri, Missouri Western Griffons men's basketball has grown from a junior college squad into an NCAA Division II contender. Guided by legendary head coach Tom Smith, the Griffons captured multiple MIAA crowns, sweeping the regular season and tournament in 1989-90 and adding a tournament title in 2003, with 13 NCAA Tournament appearances highlighted by a 1990 first-round win. The annual showdown with Northwest Missouri State fuels the region, packing the MWSU Fieldhouse at the Looney Complex, an intimate, renovated arena that amplifies a rowdy student section and close-to-the-court energy; Missouri Western even ranked top-10 nationally in D-II attendance last season.
