Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles football has been part of Cookeville since 1922, representing Tennessee Tech University. As members of the Ohio Valley Conference, the Golden Eagles have captured multiple conference titles, including a resurgent crown in 2011 that sent Tech into the FCS playoffs. The program’s mid-century run under coach Wilburn Tucker set the standard, and the stadium that bears his name at Overall Field keeps that legacy in view.

Fans flock to Tucker Stadium for purple-and-gold Saturdays that feel personal and electric. Tailgates dot the campus, the Golden Eagle Marching Band lifts the energy, and Awesome Eagle rallies a student section proud to shout Wings Up. Annual in-state showdowns with Austin Peay and UT Martin carry Sgt. York Trophy stakes, adding extra edge to every snap.
