Assai Records at 1 Grindlay Street, Edinburgh EH3 9AT, is a beloved record shop that doubles as an intimate live events space. Tucked between Lothian Road and the Old Town, it draws fans for album launches, acoustic sets, and conversation-forward evenings with touring artists. The setting is personal, the vibe is welcoming, and the city centre location makes it easy to combine a show with a pre-gig bite or a late stroll past Usher Hall.
Expect sharp sound, thoughtful sightlines, and friendly staff who keep the pace moving so you spend more time hearing music and less time waiting. With limited capacity, artists can road-test new material, premiere singles, or share stories that rarely surface on bigger stages. Browsers love the post-show merch tables, where curated vinyl and exclusives sit steps from the performance area.
