Born in 1876 in Philadelphia, Penn Quakers Football blends tradition with Ivy League grit. The Quakers claim seven national championships from the program’s early juggernaut years and own a record 18 Ivy League titles, including multiple undefeated league seasons. Legends like two-way great Chuck Bednarik and alumnus John Heisman connect Penn to the sport’s foundation, while the program’s lone Rose Bowl trip in 1917 underscores its national footprint.

Home Saturdays unfold at Franklin Field, the nation’s oldest college football stadium, opened in 1895 and famed for the first stadium scoreboard. The Penn Band cues the beloved Drink a Highball singalong, and the student section answers with the playful Toast Toss at the third-quarter break. Annual rivalry showdowns with Princeton and the Trustees’ Cup clash with Cornell keep the atmosphere buzzing from tailgate to final whistle.
