Born in 1925 in Martin, Tennessee, Tennessee Martin Skyhawks football turns Saturdays at Hardy M. Graham Stadium into a community celebration. The pregame Skyhawk Walk through The Quad, spirited tailgates, and a loud student section give the 7,500-seat venue an outsized voice, creating an atmosphere that welcomes first-timers and rewards diehards.

The Skyhawks have stacked achievements, capturing Ohio Valley Conference titles in 2006, 2021, and 2022, plus back-to-back Big South-OVC crowns in 2023 and 2024, and a milestone FCS playoff win in 2021. Longtime head coach Jason Simpson has shaped that rise, while alumni like NFL defensive tackle Montori Hughes carry the program’s grit forward. Each fall, in-state bragging rights heat up during the Sgt. York Trophy series with Tennessee Tech and Tennessee State, fueling a rivalry run that keeps Skyhawk Country buzzing.
