About Master Singers
Master Singers is a British vocal quartet celebrated for turning everyday texts into choir loft comedy with impeccable craft. Active in the 1960s, the group set items like the United Kingdom’s highway code and the BBC weather forecast to Anglican chant, yielding charting novelties such as "The Highway Code" and "Weather Forecast." Their straight-faced delivery, crisp part-singing, and chapel-honed phrasing bridged cathedral tradition and the pop era, and their recordings became cult favorites among choral fans and collectors. The group showed how classical technique can carry wit without sacrificing musicality, influencing later ensembles that blend humor with high-level ensemble singing.
