Spamalot Productions to Visit Several U.S. Cities in 2014
Although the third national Spamalot tour ended in 2013, there will be a handful of local productions of the hilarious musical taking place across the country in 2014, giving fans the chance to see the goofy antics of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table on stage. As of May 6, only one of the productions is currently running, and it will be stationed at the Clarence Brown Theatre in Knoxville, Tenn., through May 11. Throughout the year, several more productions of this adaptation of the popular film will take place in cities like Oklahoma City (July 22-26), Pittsburgh (July 29-Aug. 3), and Red Bank, N.J. (Nov. 14-23).
After it premiered on Broadway in 2005, Monty Python’s Spamalot was a huge success and earned three Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show has been produced in more than 20 countries since its premiere, bringing classic Python songs like “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” and new favorites like “The Song That Goes Like This” to theaters around the world.
