Tour Announcement
In 2013, a number of stellar concert tours passed through North America, but as the year draws to a close, many artists are announcing exciting ventures to look forward to in 2014. Following in the footsteps of such artists as Imagine Dragons, Cher, and George Strait, southern rockers Kings of Leon and U.K. boy band The Wanted have both revealed plans to travel North America in the year ahead.
Kings of Leon Mechanical Bull Tour
On Oct. 24, Kings of Leon revealed plans for a full North American arena tour in support of its sixth studio album, “Mechanical Bull.” The long-awaited album was the first to be released since the group's temporary hiatus began back in 2011. Though the group played a handful of smaller venues and festivals earlier in 2013, the upcoming 2014 tour will be Kings of Leon’s first full-fledged venture in over two years.
The first leg of the 2014 Mechanical Bull Tour is currently scheduled to span from Feb. 5-March 8. The initial announcement below only includes 16 cities, but an extra note states additional dates will be announced at a later date.

Kings of Leon will be supported on the tour’s first leg by Austin-based musician Gary Clark, Jr., who has received numerous accolades from critics at Rolling Stone, SPIN, and the New York Times, among others. Just 27 years old, the talented blues guitarist has already performed with Eric Clapton, B.B. King, and the Rolling Stones.
The Wanted Word of Mouth World Tour
Since the single “Glad You Came” shot up to No. 3 on the Billboard charts in 2011, the British-Irish import band The Wanted has been a regular name in pop music stateside. Right now, the quintet is preparing to release its third studio album, “Word of Mouth,” which is due out Nov. 4.
In support of this new full-length effort, The Wanted has announced it will be headlining its first ever world tour starting in February. The Word of Mouth Tour will travel throughout Europe until early April, when the members will land in the U.S. for the tour’s North American leg. Fans in the U.S. and Canada can see The Wanted in more than 20 cities selected for the venture, which begins April 8 in Huntington, N.Y. Like Kings of Leon, The Wanted has stated that additional dates will be added to the trek, so keep an eye on the Vivid Seats marketplace for newly announced tour dates as they become available.
