History Of the Ariana Grandes Sweetener Tour

The first hint of a new Ariana Grande tour arrived via her Twitter account on May 6th, 2018, not long after announcing the release of Sweetener on The Tonight Show Starring: Jimmy Fallon. Three months later, she revealed plans for a tour and that her team was working on its rollout and launch. She launched a promotional tour - The Sweetener Sessions - which began on August 20th, 2018 in New York and ended on September 4th, 2018. Finally, on October 24, 2018, she announced the Sweetener World Tour, adding North American tour dates on the 25th and European dates on December 14th 2018.

The Sweetener Tour Will Go On Despite Bitter Times

Despite Arianas success in 2018, things havent been all fun and glory - shes had to bear some burdens. Ariana suffered blows in her personal life this past year. Her two-year relationship had ended with the late-rapper, Mac Miller, in May 2018. When Mac Miller tragically died of a drug overdose on September 7th, 2018, many people went as far as blaming Ariana for contributing to Millers death. Also, in May, just when Arianas relationship with Mac had ended, she began dating SNL actor/comedian, Pete Davidson, with an engagement announcement surfacing in June 2018. However, the engagement was short-lived as Grande and Davidson called off the engagement in October 2018. So if anything, 2018 has been an up-and-down year for Grande, one we can say is more or less bittersweet. A new Ariana Grande tour will no doubt be empowering and healing for both her and her fans.

Get Ready For A Grande Show

Despite these hardships, Ariana is still a generational talent who can bring it. Shes versatile and can belt on any type of song, whether its a bouncy pop song, a soulful R&B ballad, or a trap-influenced banger. Shes got the raw emotive power of Whitney Houston and the agility and range of Mariah Carey - two of her idols. Considering how she brings all of that to the table, you wont want to miss seeing her live. Get your Ariana Grande tickets now!
