According to reports on Sunday night, James has agreed to a four-year, $154 million contract to join the Lakers. His impact on the organization will stretch beyond the court -- including into ticket prices.
Overnight, ticket prices to the team's first preseason home game tripled, as the median listed prices for the Sept. 30 showdown against the Nuggets shot up from $61 to $188.
James has impacted ticket prices each time he's joined a new team. When James announced he was leaving the Miami Heat in 2014 to return home to Cleveland, Cavs’ ticket prices rose a whopping 91 percent. Conversely, Heat prices fell 39 percent during the same offseason.
