Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez--two Disney Channel starlets-turned-pop music giants--have both announced new live ventures to support their most recent new music. With Cyrus set for a brief fall tour and Gomez gearing up for a heftier trek next summer, pop fans will have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
Miley Cyrus Teams Up with Flaming Lips for 2015 Tour
Fresh off her third stint as host of Saturday Night Live, Miley Cyrus has confirmed plans to head out on the road with The Flaming Lips this fall. Earlier in the summer, the powerhouse vocalist recently dropped a new mixtape, “Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz,” as a collaboration with the psychedelic rock outfit. At the time of her announcement, the winter Miley Cyrus tour only includes six dates in major cities like Chicago (Nov. 19), New York (Nov. 28), and Boston (Dec. 6). It’s not clear if she plans to expand the limited engagement with additional performances.
Selena Gomez Revival Tour Confirmed for 2016
On the other end of the pop spectrum, Selena Gomez has gone a more traditional route with her third studio album, “Revival.” Featuring the hit singles “Good for You” and “Same Old Love,” the album is already on track to be a huge hit when it’s released in October.
With that in mind, Gomez has already announced the 2016 dates for her North American Revival Tour. The two-month trek will kick off from “Sin City” on May 6 with a concert at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center. The remainder of the trek will follow suit with dates booked at arenas in almost every major city across the U.S. and Canada, leading up to a final show at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on July 8.
Gomez is also headlining a few shows on the Jingle Ball 2015 tour. She’ll appear at the Oakland, Calif., edition of Jingle Ball on Dec. 3, as well as the Los Angeles (Dec. 4) and Chicago (Dec. 16) concerts.
