Five states--all in New England--have the Pats as their favorite team. Since 2017, however, the New York Giants have been the most popular team in Connecticut. State Lines Rule the Midwest The Packers, Bears, Lions and Colts are each the most popular team in one state only. With the Packers, Bears and Lions all in the NFC North, it's easy to say why this division gives us some of the NFL's best rivalries. Trends in Fan Favorites Team popularity shifts through time, though some things remain constant. "Swing States" like California, Florida, Connecticut and Montana fluctuate year to year, while states like Texas and Pennsylvania have remained steady in their support despite being home to multiple NFL teams.
