New York City Homecoming Concert
New York City is back.
And what better way to show the world that The Big Apple has returned than a mega-concert in Central Park?
Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Paul Simon will headline the Central Park Homecoming Concert, scheduled for Aug. 21. Jon Batiste, Andrea Bocelli, Kane Brown, LL Cool J, Elvis Costello, Earth, Wind & Fire, Journey, The Killers, and Rob Thomas will also perform.
"This is going to be one of the greatest Central Park concerts in history," said New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Central Park's Great Lawn has been the site of many iconic concerts over the years including Garth Brooks, Daryl Hall and John Oates, Simon & Garfunkel, Diana Ross, Elton John, and James Taylor.
The lead-up to the reopening bash on the Great Lawn will include the following free concerts in each borough:
- Aug 16. - Orchard Beach - Bronx
- Aug. 17 - Richmond County Bank Ballpark - Staten Island
- Aug. 19 - Brooklyn Army Terminal - Brooklyn
- Aug. 20 - Forest Hills Stadium - Queens
Veteran music producer Clive Davis is producing the concert on Central Park's Great Lawn. He has worked with many of the headliners at the event, including New Jersey native Springsteen, who is expected to perform a duet with Patti Smith.
