Nine North American Cities Tabbed for Upcoming Rolling Stones Tour

April 04, 2013 by Alyssa

Tour Announcement

With unending international tours, luxurious lifestyles, and a constantly changing music scene, very few rock bands have the tenacity to stay together for more than a decade, let alone five. Even fewer willingly stay on tour with the same lineup for over 30 years, playing the same fan favorites to audiences across the world, but fortunately for rock aficionados, the Rolling Stones have remained big fans of continuity during their 50-year reign. The incomparable British knights will continue the half-century celebration together with a new batch of cities for the 50 & Counting Tour that originally began last November.

The final months of 2012 brought a pair of shows at the O2 Arena in London, as well as performances stateside in New York and New Jersey, but fans were left eagerly awaiting a more substantial announcement for the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic bands in music history.

The official launch date has yet to be determined due to potential conflicts with the NBA and NHL postseason, however, via the video below, the Rolling Stones did confirm that the Staples Center in Los Angeles will host the first of nine North American shows. The rest of the list includes Oakland (May 5), San Jose (May 8), Las Vegas (May 11), Anaheim (May 15), two shows in Toronto (May 25 and June 6), two shows in Chicago (May 28 and May 31), Boston (June 12), and Philadelphia (June 18). Additionally, less than a month after the Rolling Stones tour wraps up, the band will head to England to headline the 2013 Glastonbury Festival on June 29 and play at London’s Hyde Park on July 6.

For now, the GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award winners have not revealed any plans to add more dates later down the road, but then again, the group is often up for anything so fans are encouraged to stay tuned. Though still preserving their roots, the Rolling Stones typically produce fresh, state-of-the-art special effects and displays for audiences at each venue, so be sure to shop Vivid Seats for your pick of highly sought after Rolling Stones tickets in stock now.
