This years Super Bowl is a rematchof sorts. A rematch of a game from thirteen years ago.The New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles will square off in Super Bowl LII, just as they did in 2005, in Super Bowl XXXIX. A lot can change in thirteen yearsin 2005, Marios Let Me Love You was the No. 3 song on the year-end Billboard charts for example, and now I doubt you could tell me where Mario is.What hasnt changed however, is the head coach-quarterback tandem of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady on the New England Patriots. They were at the helm when the Patriots beat the Eagles in 2005, and they will look to repeat this year.In 2005, the Pats had a formidable opponent in a star-studded Philadelphia Eagles team. If you played Madden back then and werent cheating by using Michael Vick, the Eagles were an absolute dream to play with. Thats because they had a superstar quarterback, running back and wide receiver: Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Terrell Owens.McNabb and Co. managed to hang with the Patriots the whole way, with the game tied 14-14 at the end of the third quarter. Then, the Patriots put 10 unanswered points on the board, and the Eagles had to retaliate. After a lengthy drive that resulted in a touchdown, the Eagles were down three with a 1:48 to play. While McNabb was criticized for poor clock management, it was later revealed he was literally dry heaving in the huddle and needed a full huddle to get a snap off without passing out or vomiting in his helmet. But, as they say, all dynasties need a little luck, and the Patriots were able to run the clock down and leave the Eagles with nothing to work with, before Rodney Harrison made the game-ending interception.Keep in mind, this was the THIRD Super Bowl this regime had won at that point.Tom Brady will now move on to his EIGHTH Super Bowl next Sunday.Relive the Patriots and Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX here:
