Music Festivals 2014
Summer is just around the corner, and that means the 2014 music festival season is about to be in full swing. This year, ease into the excitement of the bigger fests like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza by attending one of the many single-day concert festivals held around the country.

River City Rockfest | San Antonio, Texas – May 24
On Saturday, May 24, The Grounds at San Antonio’s AT&T Center will be taken over by the second annual River City Rockfest. The heavy rock music festival has compiled another impressive lineup for its sophomore edition, including acts like Kid Rock, Deftones, Five Finger Death Punch, Seether, and Killswitch Engage.
JAMN 94.5 Summer Jam | Mansfield, Mass. – May 30
Just outside of Boston, the Mansfield, Mass., Xfinity Center will play host to the JAMN 94.5 Summer Jam on Friday, May 30, and the single-day festival is on tap to bring an impressive roster of hip-hop artists to the open-air amphitheater. In addition to the recent addition of multi-Platinum pop star Jennifer Lopez, the 2014 lineup will include eight-time GRAMMY nominee Kendrick Lamar, “Turn Down for What” hit-maker Lil Jon, B.o.B., Juicy J, and more.
KROQ Weenie Roast | Irvine, Calif. – May 31
L.A.’s modern rock station KROQ-FM has booked an eclectic lineup for its 2014 Weenie Roast festival, which will be held at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif., on Saturday, May 31. Headliners Beck and Foster the People both released new albums in February and March of this year, respectively, while Avicii and Fall Out Boy, who also are on the Weenie Roast 2014 lineup, dropped new releases last year. The Neighbourhood, Capital Cities, Bastille, Fitz and the Tantrums, and more also are scheduled to perform.
BLI Summer Jam | Wantagh, N.Y. – June 1
The Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y., is slated to host the annual BLI Summer Jam on Sunday, June 1, and the 2014 roster of pop artists will be led by headliner Jason Derulo, whose latest single “Wiggle” was released on May 6. During the single-day fest, Derulo will be joined by the likes of Austin Mahone, Cody Simpson, Fifth Harmony, Emblem 3, Karmin, and many more.
Hot 97 Summer Jam | East Rutherford, N.J. – June 1
Since 2010, the New York Giants’ MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., has been host to the Hot 97 Summer Jam, one of the biggest single-day hip-hop concerts in the country. This year, the event will return on Sunday, June 1, with two stages and more than 20 performers. Headliners include NAS, Childish Gambino, Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, and newcomer Iggy Azalea, who as of May 16 holds the No. 3 and 4 slots on the Billboard Hot 100 with her own single “Fancy” and “Problem,” a collaboration with Ariana Grande.
