Van Halen Tour 2015 to Kick Off in July

March 24, 2015 by Alyssa

Tour Announcement

For the first time in three years, Van Halen will be reuniting for a new North American tour. The legendary classic rock outfit will be headlining more than 35 shows during the 2015 summer and fall trek, which will launch on July 5 in Auburn, Wash., and end on Oct. 2 at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl.

David Lee Roth to Return for 2015 Trek
The upcoming venture will be the fourth straight Van Halen tour to feature original vocalist David Lee Roth at the helm. The Indiana native most recently was featured on the band’s 2012-13 Viva La Van Halen Tour, during which Roth recorded his first live album with the group in Japan. In conjunction with the upcoming tour, that live recording will be released on March 31 under the title “Tokyo Dome Live in Concert.” Listen to an audio clip of “Runnin’ with the Devil” from the forthcoming live album here:

In addition to Roth, other Van Halen members that will return for the upcoming trek include co-founders Alex and Eddie Van Halen, as well as Eddie’s son, Wolfgang. At the time of the tour announcement, Van Halen hasn’t revealed any plans to release a new studio album with Roth this year. The band’s most recent full-length effort was 2012’s “A Different Kind of Truth,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

Van Halen Jimmy Kimmel Performance to Precede Tour Launch
The night before the live album is released, Van Halen will also be making its first TV appearance with Roth on vocals during an episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The performance will take place on Hollywood Boulevard and be split into two parts, which will air March 30-31.
