What Celebrities Are Saying About Springsteen on Broadway

March 09, 2018 by Stephen Spiewak

THE BOSS DOES BROADWAY

Former President Barack Obama was in New York last weekend with wife Michelle to take in one of the hottest events in the entertainment: Springsteen on Broadway.

Obama, who awarded Springsteen the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016, gave Springsteen “an affirmative point after show, amid applause and picture taking during the boys,” according to the Asbury Park Press.

He’s not the only high profile theater goer who has come away impressed with Springsteen’s Broadway performance.

Actress Reese Witherspoon also attended a recent show, and spoke about her experience on Wednesday’s episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

“Literally within 15 minutes, I was a sobbing puddle of human tears on the ground,” Witherspoon said.

Here are some other celebrities who saw Springsteen on Broadway and were moved by the experience:

Oprah Winfrey

"I came away moved to the marrow of my being and for days could not articulate what exactly I was feeling. Whenever someone asked 'How was Bruce?' I'd just start to tear up and then use some superlative description." (via Oprah.com)

Arlo White, NBC Sports broadcaster

Jim Boeheim, Syracuse men’s basketball head coach

“Really good. Two straight hours. He kept everybody involved the whole show. It was a really spectacular show.” (via ESPN Syracuse)
