Derek Jeter Jersey Retirement Ticket Prices
Thinking ahead to warmer days in spring, the New York Yankees revealed on Dec. 6 that their May 14 Mother's Day game against the Houston Astros will include a special jersey retirement ceremony in honor of 14-time MLB All-Star and five-time World Series champion, Derek Jeter.
The 20-year veteran will have his No. 2 jersey retired, which incidentally, will close out the single digits for the franchise: (1) Billy Martin, (2) Derek Jeter, (3) Babe Ruth, (4) Lou Gehrig, (5) Joe DiMaggio, (6) Joe Torre, (7) Mickey Mantle, (8) Yogi Berra, Bill Dickey, (9) Roger Maris.
Just as we saw with the Spurs' announcement regarding Tim Duncan's retirement ceremony, the news quickly made Derek Jeter retirement game tickets the most in-demand of the 2017 season for the Yankees when competing at home.
Prior to, the median was $80, and the minimum price was just $21 for the bleachers. The announcement ultimately caused the minimum price to rise 967% to $224 for the Grandstand Outfield.
Jeter's final game on Sept. 25, 2014 sold for an average price of $389 at Vivid Seats.
