AC/DC Tour to Return to North America in Early 2016

December 14, 2015 by Alyssa

ACDC 2016

Coming off a successful 2015 concert venture, AC/DC will be back in North America with new shows in 2016. The classic rock band announced a string of 20 shows scheduled for the first half of 2016. Only a handful of cities are repeats from last year’s AC/DC tour, but all the shows will take place in new venues. Where last year’s tour saw the band headlining stadiums, the 2016 tour will scale things down a bit with arena concerts across the U.S. and Canada.

Among the notable stops are Fargo, N.D., Washington, D.C., Denver, St. Paul, Tacoma, Wash., Greensboro, N.C., Cleveland, Dallas, Houston, and New York--all cities where AC/DC hasn’t performed in at least seven years.

AC/DC Setlist Promises Mix of Greatest Hits and New Songs

According to fan-curated AC/DC setlists from 2015, in recent live shows the band has powered through its greatest hits on stage. Almost every concert has featured performances of fan favorites like “Highway to Hell,” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “You Shook Me All Night Long,” “Thunderstuck,” and “Back in Black,” among many others. Since the tour is supporting the band’s 2014 album, “Rock or Bust,” the Australian outfit has also highlighted a number of songs off the new record in concert, most notably the album’s title track.

As of Dec. 14, the AC/DC tour doesn’t include any festival dates, but it’s possible the band could be added to a lineup for the 2016 summer concert season. The band was one of the headliners of Coachella last year.
