Study: Going To A Concert Better For Your Health Than Yoga

March 29, 2018 by Stephen Spiewak

Good news, concert-goers: The next time you see your favorite performer in person, you could be benefitting your health.

A new study from the University of London suggests that the perks of attending a concert stretch far beyond the entertainment value.

"Researchers found that people who listened to 20 minutes of live music had a 21 percent boost in mood, while those who took a yoga class for the same amount of time increased their wellbeing by just 10 percent," according to the London Daily Mail.

The study also asked some participants to take dogs for walks; however, the concert attendees saw three times the boost in mood than the dog walkers.

The study concluded that attending a concert every two weeks "could pave the way for almost a decade more years of life."

So get another concert on your schedule. After all, it’s good for you.
