EDC Festival
Electric Daisy Carnival is one of the world’s biggest and most popular electronic music festivals, and it’s growing in size and popularity every year. Here’s everything you need to know about the international music festival, including who’s on this year’s EDC lineup, how to by EDC tickets, what to bring to EDC, and much more.
What Is EDC?
Electric Daisy Carnival, better known as EDC to attendees, is an annual music festival focused on electronic and dance music. The festival started in 1997 in L.A., but over the years the event has switched cities and venues. Many major names in music have headlined Electric Daisy Carnival since its inception, including Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, and Bassnectar.
Today EDC’s main event is held in Las Vegas each summer. Since 2012, there has also been an East Coast installment of Electric Daisy Carnival held in New York or New Jersey each spring.
Where Is EDC Held?
Each year there are multiple Electric Daisy Carnival events held around the world. EDC Las Vegas takes place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. EDC New York will take place at Citi Field in Flushing, N.Y., in 2016. EDC U.K. will be held at the Milton Keynes Bowl in Buckinghamshire.

What to Bring to EDC
Since you’ll be outside almost all day, the most practical things to bring to EDC include sunglasses, hats, empty CamelBaks, and official Electric Daisy Carnival/Insomniac Events water bottles. Attendees are also allowed to bring small bags and backpacks, fanny packs, sealed packs of cigarettes, e-cigs, earplugs, glowsticks, hula hoops, deflated inflatables, flags, festival totems, and non-professional cameras to the festival.
EDC prohibited items include eye drops, laser pointers, OTC medication, cans, coolers, cups, Frisbees, chairs, blankets, Bota bags, large bags and backpacks, stuffed animals, and food or beverages purchased outside the festival. There’s usually a general store on site that allows you to purchase basic items like eyedrops and OTC medication like ibuprofen.
The Electric Daisy Carnival experience is one unlike any other. Diehard fans return to this festival every year out of a love for the community that gathers here each summer. A focus on the EDM fan community, and music lovers in general, is at the heart of EDC’s success.
Another key part of the EDC experience is the focus on elaborate visuals. From bright, extravagant costumes to over-the-top lighting displays and set designs, every facet of Electric Daisy Carnival is intended to inspire creativity and individuality. The festival is known for being one of the brightest and most unique music festivals across the U.S.
