Inaugural Buckeye Country Superfest Lineup Announced for 2015

October 16, 2014 by Alyssa

Festival Announcement

Ohio will be getting a brand new country music festival in the summer of 2015 when the first annual Buckeye Country Superfest arrives at Columbus’ Ohio Stadium for the weekend of June 20-21. Presented by the same group that hosts the annual Bayou Country Superfest in Louisiana, this two-day music celebration will bring several acclaimed acts into town for the huge stadium show.

Building off the success of the established Bayou Country Superfest, this year’s inaugural Buckeye Country Superfest lineup will start on Saturday with headliner Blake Shelton. The Oklahoma native released Bringing Back the Sunshine, his second Billboard 200 chart-topper, at the end of September amid his work on season seven of The Voice. The album’s lead single, “Neon Light,” has already become a staple on the radio.

Country trio Rascal Flatts will also be on hand for the first night of the fest, performing behind the May 2014 release of Rewind, the band’s eighth consecutive No. 1 country album. Lee Brice, Tyler Farr, and Cassadee Pope will fill out the rest of the Saturday lineup.

The Sunday Buckeye Country Superfest lineup will be helmed by another industry veteran, Kenny Chesney, who, like Shelton, also released a new album in September. The Big Revival was largely written by Chesney on a year-long hiatus from live touring, a rare occurrence for the tireless performer. During his set at this country music festival, Chesney is sure to perform the biggest hits from the No. 1 record, including the lead single, “American Kids.”

Aussie country music mainstay Keith Urban is also set to be a featured performer on June 21, following the success of his 2014 Raise ‘Em Up Tour that supported his 2013 album, Fuse. The rest of the evening will showcase performances from solo artists Cole Swindell and David Nail, as well as the North Carolina-based quartet Parmalee.

Like the Bayou Country Superfest, this new Ohio country music festival will feature a free pre-show fan fest and tailgate on both days of the event. Shop for single- or two-day Buckeye Country Superfest tickets in the marketplace today to attend the exciting first edition of what’s sure to be a regular summer concert event in Ohio.

The Buckeye Country Superfest lineup is the second major country music festival announcement for 2015, following last week’s reveal of the Stagecoach Music Festival lineup. The California fest is one of the earliest large music events of the year, scheduled for April 24-26. The festival’s 2015 headliners will include Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, and Buckeye Country Superfest star Blake Shelton.
