May 13, 2022 by Madison Marx

Top 5 Hottest NFL Games of 2022

The 2022 NFL schedule is here, and the anticipation for the season ahead couldn't be stronger.

Between the 49ers vs. Raiders, and Russell Wilson's return to Seattle in Week 1, there's plenty of marquee matchups to be excited about this year.

Check out the top five most anticipated NFL games this season, according to Vivid Seats data.

1. 49ers at Raiders

Date: Jan. 1, 2023  | Time: 4:05 p.m. ET | How to Watch: Fox

Coming in at No. 1: 49ers vs. Raiders in Week 17— are you surprised? Raiders home games continue to be one of the most sought-after tickets in the NFL, with an average ticket price of $603 for this New Year's Day matchup. The lure of Las Vegas and the state-of-the-art Allegiant Stadium are drawing opposing teams' fans to the market each year. There's no doubt that the 49ers dedicated fan base will make the trip to Sin City for this highly contested matchup.

 2. Packers at Bucs

Date: Sept. 25, 2022 | Time: 4:25 ET | How to Watch: Fox

No NFL player moves the ticket demand needle like the seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers will hit the road to face Brady and the Bucs in Week 3, which also happens to be their home opener. A September return to Tampa Bay, where Rodgers will look for revenge after losing the NFL Championship Game to Brady two years ago, is the second most in-demand NFL game this year. On average, it will cost fans $535 per ticket to catch the showdown between these two legends.

3. Cowboys at Packers

Date: Nov. 13, 2022 | Time: 4:25 p.m. ET | How to Watch: Fox

Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys will travel to Green Bay in Week 10 to take on the Packers. This Week 10 game is one of the most anticipated games of the year as it marks the first time that McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers will face off as opponents since McCarthy was fired by the Packers in 2018. This game may be months away, but tickets to see these two iconic franchises play are already selling for $472, on average. Fans will have to wait and see who will come out on top, McCarthy or Rodgers?

4. Bucs at Cowboys

Date: Sept. 11, 2022 | Time: 8:20 p.m. ET | How to Watch: NBC

For the second straight season, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers will meet Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. While the Bucs hosted the Cowboys at Raymond James Stadium in 2021, Prescott will be looking to etch his name into the upper rank of QBs at home. All eyes will be on Brady though after his short return from "retirement." Tickets for this prime time game are going for $472, on average.

5. Broncos at Seahawks

Date: Sept. 12, 2022 | Time: 8:15 ET | How to Watch: ESPN

When MVPs return to their former homes after changing teams, it tends to be a hot ticket. The average price of a ticket for Wilson's return to his former Seattle home on MNF in Week 1 is currently $451, which is by far the highest for a Seahawks home game in the last 6 years. After spending 10 seasons in Seattle, including a victory over the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII, Wilson is known as a "Living Local Legend" in Seattle.
