Gentlemen of the Road Tour
The unique Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers have been a huge hit since Mumford and Sons first introduced them in 2012, and to the delight of many, the band has plotted a third edition for 2015. The upcoming stopovers will remain true to the established format, which the group has defined as “A music festival that celebrates local people, food and culture, where everyone pitches in and everybody gets something back.”
As displayed in the trailer above, the hand-picked locations for the 2015 Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers are Seaside Heights, N.J. (June 5-6), Waverly, Iowa (June 19-20), Walla Walla, Wash. (Aug. 14-15), and Salida, Colo. (Aug. 21-22), for the U.S., and Aviemore (July 31-Aug. 1) in the U.K. The sites are all brand new for 2015, as past cities lucky enough to host stopovers include Portland, Maine, Bristol, Va., Dixon, Ill., Monterey, Calif., Simcoe, Ontario, Troy, Ohio, Guthrie, Okla., and St. Augustine, Fla.

In addition to the distinct destinations, Mumford and Sons also will once again be accompanied by an impressive collective of supporting acts each step of the way, though note that the full performer lineup will vary per city. Among the bands set to be featured during various Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers are Alabama Shakes, The Flaming Lips, Foo Fighters, My Morning Jacket, Jenny Lewis, Dawes, The Maccabees, The Vaccines, Rubblebucket, James Vincent McMorrow, Tune-Yards, The Very Best, Blake Mills, Little May, and JEFF the Brotherhood.
Outside of the Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers, Mumford and Sons also is set to headline Bonnaroo (June 11-14) and the Squamish Valley Music Festival (Aug. 7-9), but before any live dates, will release its third studio album, “Wilder Mind,” on May 4. While the banjo has become a trademark of the band’s sound, early interviews with lead singer Marcus Mumford in particular have hinted that a much different record is in store for fans this time around.
