Texans Deandre Hopkins Makes Catch Of The Year Against Steelers

December 27, 2017

Not a whole lot went right for the Texans against the Steelers on Christmas Day. For the most part, it was the football equivalent of a lump of coal, or several of them, as the Texans were trounced 34-6 by the Pittsburgh Steelers at home. However, the lone highlight for the Texansquite literally, as it was their only scoring playmay also be the highlight of the entire season.DeAndre Hopkins made a one-handed, tip the ball to himself grab in double coverage that may stand as the catch of the year:
Hopkins spoke to the Houston Chronicle after the game about the catch:
"I work on my craft a lot," Hopkins said. "I try to perfect it. Im a perfectionist. Im just going out there and making plays whenever my numbers called. So, hopefully, I can give them more excitement, more catches like that in the future."
In speaking to the Chronicle however, he also revealed that he thought the catch could have been better, and was in some ways disappointed in it:
"Im mad I didnt catch it the first time," Hopkins said. "Like me, who I am I was supposed to catch that one the first time with my right hand. Nah, because I was supposed to catch that one with my right hand, honestly."
I mean, thats very humble of Hopkins to say, but this catch is one of the best weve ever seen, and might land him a silhouette like Odell Beckham for his legendary one-handed grab as well. The Steelers now move on to face the Cleveland Browns, who are seeking their first win of the season in the final game of the year.
