New Album to Be Streisand’s First in Two Years
Streisand will be releasing a new album of duets, titled “Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway,” in conjunction with the 2016 tour. Although her list of collaborators is still under wraps, the album is guaranteed to be a crossover hit, touching on her lauded career on both the screen and the stage. At the time of her tour announcement, Streisand also hasn’t revealed an official release date for the album, but she did confirm it will drop later this year.
Streisand’s most recent album was “Partners,” another album of duets. On that album, she collaborated with musical greats like Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, and Josh Groban to cover a combination of contemporary hits, pop standards, and Broadway tunes.
The upcoming summer Barbra Streisand tour will feature highlights from her forthcoming album, as well as hits from her more than five decades in the spotlight.
