Jingle Ball Lineup
In Dec. 2014, the annual Jingle Ball tour will return to the U.S., bringing with it another star-studded collection of artists to arenas around the country. Though the roster of performers will change from city to city, the Jingle Ball 2014 lineup announced on Oct. 9 includes some of the biggest names on today’s pop charts, including Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer, Meghan Trainor, and more.
Although you can check the individual lineup for each city at the bottom of this page, a handful of highlights stand out for the upcoming holiday shows. The first Jingle Ball tour stop will be Los Angeles, which will host more than a dozen artists at Staples Center on Dec. 5. Leading the stacked roster of acts like 5 Seconds of Summer, Ariana Grande, and Sam Smith will be country darling-turned-full-fledged pop star, Taylor Swift. The GRAMMY winner will make one of just two Jingle Ball appearances at this Friday night show (the other will be New York on Dec. 12) behind her forthcoming October album, 1989, featuring the Platinum single “Shake It Off.”
Also appearing in L.A.--as well as in New York (Dec. 12), Boston (Dec. 14), Washington, D.C. (Dec. 15), and Chicago (Dec. 18)--will be the breakout Australian outfit 5 Seconds of Summer. These spots on the Jingle Ball 2014 lineup will mark some of the last chances to see the band live stateside for nearly six months, as the quartet will spend next spring on European and Australian legs of its first headlining world tour.
This year, the Jingle Ball lineup will especially highlight the leading ladies of pop, which is fitting, considering the top five slots of the Billboard Hot 100 have been held by women for the last five weeks. Reigning Hot 100 queen, Meghan Trainor, will be on hand for nearly all dates (excepting the events in Columbus, Ohio, and Atlanta) to sing her multi-Platinum hit “All About That Bass,” while fellow top five hit-makers Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora, Jessie J, and Ariana Grande will also be featured in many cities throughout the Jingle Ball tour.
