The Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks are the most popular NBA teams in the country by county, according to a map powered by Vivid Seats NBA ticket sales data.
The Timberwolves claim 270 counties and have a strong presence of fans in Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies check in at No. 2 with 239 counties, followed by the Hawks at 230 counties. The Oklahoma City Thunder (216) and Charlotte Hornets (207) round out the Top 5.
With the addition of budding superstar Victor Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs are the 11th most popular NBA team. However, the Spurs face stiff competition in the Lone Star State from the likes of the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets and border-neighbor Oklahoma City Thunder.
