David Wright, one of the most beloved players in the history of the New York Mets, will be playing his final game.

Wright, who has spent his entire 14-year career with the Mets, is set to hang it up--and Mets fans will be flocking to Citi Field on Sept. 29 to watch their team captain start at third base.

Wright has not played since 2016 due to a lingering back injury. He's rehabbed extensively for the past three years. However, ultimately Wright could not get healthy enough to resume his career.

On Thursday, Wright spoke at an emotional press conference announcing both his return and that he would no longer be able to play baseball.

The tearful message to Mets fans sparked intense demand for tickets to the game on Sept. 29. Here's a breakdown of how ticket prices reacted to the news of Wright's last game:
